Is this the future of conferences? Totem Summit 2017

Events, Sports, Technology - Posted: March 17, 2017

Totem Summit Headliners

Conferences these days can be a little dull... To say the least.

Great talks can be insightful but it's normally the connections made, that I've seen tends to be most useful in moving the business forward. Whether that's mine or others I've worked with.

Personally I've not been to many conferences in the past year unless I've been invited to speak. This is because it's been a much more effective use of time, speaking to a large number of people in one go, high quality networking with other speakers and sometimes at the bigger conferences, getting the chance to really build strong networks through activities.

Like in any part of life, activities build much stronger connections than pure networking. You get to know each other on a personal level as well as business. What I really wanted was this experience as an attendee and not just as a speaker.

Last year I was a judge at Digital DNA (another great event), in Belfast alongside some great names, indulging one Michael Murphy, founder of Wonka Labs. Earlier this year he contacted me about a conference that instantly I knew I wanted to be a part of. Totem Summit.

Held in Whistler BC, Canada attendees will get to know each other over activities such as skiing, bobsledding, snowmobiling, snowshoe trail talks and in the spa! This is followed by evening talks and discussions. I love the idea!

Some of the speakers include iHeart CEO Sarah Goodman, Clinton Senkow, Co-founder & COO of Influencive, Celebrity Chef, Andre Sickinger, Sergio Munoz of SVP Ventures and MC's for the event, the lively Startup Van founders, Mark McDonagh & Graham Hussey.

Totem Summit Experience

Most conferences rely on the boozy after parties to make strong connections but often people are spread across many bars and with many thousands attending is hard to find the right connections. Not at Totem Summit.

That's why I'm so excited about Totem Summit! I'll be there in March. If you'd like to join me there, I have a limited number of exclusive 50% off tickets!! Just use promo code WONKALOVESRISHI

They won't be around for long so secure your Totem Summit tickets here: www.totemsummit.com

So is #AdventureNetworking the future? I certainly hope so! Follow the hashtag to follow the story - and check back here in a couple weeks for an update on how it was!
