A new site, AngelList was started up in February 2010 by angel investors Naval Ravikant and Babak Nivi.
The site is a network which connects entrepreneurs with potential investors online. In the last 6 months or so the site has helped over 50 start ups gain investment.
There are many successful young entrepreneurs such as Aaron Patzer, as well as older more experienced investors on the site looking for the next big idea to invest in. The site is still in its infancy and is looking to grow quickly to help become a builder of successful future businesses.
The free service sends investors emails about start ups which are on the site and are suited towards their preferences. Often pitching to investors requires you to pay for the opportunity, AngelList was started after criticism of this ‘pay-per-pitch’ model. Some investors feel they should be paid for their time and any advice they may give.
Naval said "We're just trying to open up the way entrepreneurs and angels connect."
