Sean Belnick is the 23 year old founder of Bizchair.com, a direct-shipping company for office furniture, a company which imports office chairs from China and resells them in America, initally he began running the business from his bedroom with the initial investment coming from his step-father a total amount of $500.
Sean grew up in the age of the internet and first learned about e-commerce through eBay when he was 12, pulling in about a thousand dollars a month reselling Pokemon cards.
Following 9/11, the federal government called BizChair to make an order to replace the office furniture lost in the Pentagon. What they didn't know at the time was that they were ordering from a 15 year old, After that everything took off, Millions of people disappointment is someone’s opportunity, it sounds bad but i guess it is just what it is.
The company currently has 40 employees and sells over 2,000 types of office furniture, and owns a 40,000 square foot warehouse.
BizChair.com reported $13.6 million in sales in 2005. In 2006, sales rose to $24 million. In 2007, total revenue was $37.5 million. In 2008, Belnick reached $42 million in revenue.
