A Poem By Iverson Chucks
Let me know,
Let me know,
Do I still have to be a pretender?
They like it when your life's got more drama than EASTENDERS,
You see some folks have no emotions
Very selfish folks wish your life has beaucoup confusion & commotion;
Let me know,
Let me know,
Why do some guys give love a bad name?
Inflicting selfish sordid pain,
Not recognising a true womans worth
All playing games back and forth
Dave is a pretender, not a big star
He's fabricated like most rap stars
They forced him all along to play this part
How long would all this last?
I myself, I play a part they rather see
All I gotta do is not be me
Oh, I'll never win an OSCAR, I feel so odd
I'm a smokescreen, I'm just a dud,
Even when I'm hurting I don't let it show
I pretend I'm perfect & I go with the flow
Is this me...
...is this really me?
I'm just not here;
People are just not fair
I'm a great pretender
Some people prefer me weak and tender
We are all influenced by someone at times
Something like a copycat
We seek to blend in & follow the herd
I tried to celebrate my uniqueness,
But to no avail yet; life's just not fair
A lot of folks are faker than weave hair
I'll forget about social contagion,
And today I'm gonna be me
Would you love me for being me?
I am who I am, but you people make me
Change and re arrange me
Even if you folks appear like the calvary in a western movie,
Today, I swear I must be me.
dud- flop, wasteman, failure.
beaucoup- alot, many
social contagion- "i'll have what she's having", kinda attitude.
