PwC teams up with IncuBus Ventures to launch Future of Work Incubator
IncuBus Future of Work is a 12 week incubator programme hosted by PwC that will be focussing on startups in AI, Cyber Security and Smart Office solutions.
The work place is continuing to evolve at a frightening pace. We have already seen a growth in co working in the past few years and the ever evolving dynamics of the workplace are set to see even more changes in the way we interact with our place of work.
PwC and IncuBus Ventures have put a call out for startups in 3 specific high growth areas:
+ Cyber Security
+ Smart Offices
+ AI
Cyber Security
With more and more corporates and governments subject to cyber hacks it’s no surprise to see more and more people lured to the challenge of solving this problem. In fact, the UK government recently announced the launch of a game to attract children and adults alike to careers in Cyber Security.
Smart Offices
Includes everything from efficient power usage to environmental factors and IoT solutions. As offices and our way of working develops so will the technology around us. Ways to stay efficient and maintain a healthy working environment, reduce costs of running offices and look at ways to automate are all being worked on.
If your startup is looking to make the working environment smarter than the Future of Work incubator could be a good test bed for your startup to start gaining some traction and feedback as you look to create a better environment for us to all work in!
AI
A highly engaging and often controversial subject, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already here and not going away anytime soon. Next up it’s time to figure out if AI can be put to good work whilst still being cautious in regards of future impact of the technology. Tech giants are leading the way with advances in AI but more and more startups are popping up in the space. AngelList shows some 496 companies since last count, up from 310 just 6 months earlier.
“Disruptive innovation in the work place is creating new challenges and opportunities for every business. Traditional industry and business models are rapidly evolving and new technologies, enhanced data analytics and changing demographics are re-shaping the world of work. Areas such as Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Smart Offices are at the forefront of this change and the influence of start-up companies defining this shift is ever increasing. We are working alongside our clients to embrace and drive innovation and are excited to be teaming up with IncuBus to host the Future of Work incubator.” Stephanie Hyde, Partner, PwC

“Technology is transforming our homes like we've never seen before. Yet the workspace, where we spend 30% of our lives, is being left behind. It is time for the next disruption to take place. As business models and industries are destroyed by innovation, the only way to survive is to be at the forefront of creating new ones. This initiative will ensure the next generation of entrepreneurs have access to market and the support they need to realise the Future of Work.” George Johnston, Co-founder, IncuBus Ventures
