Giving students a voice – Siraj Datoo of The Student Journals

Start-Ups - Posted: June 9, 2011

Siraj Datoo

Siraj Datoo, a student studing a joint honours in International studies and French at the university of Warwick believes that students aren’t given a fair say.

Views of young adults, teenagers, students are generally portrayed in a negative manner. It’s either youth’s are being extremely violence, or that they are extremely lazy. Such concept is now challenged as Siraj brews up a change of scenery for students.

This is due to his strong belief in equality that all kinds of students should be given a stage of their own to present their views on a national level. A website that allows students to express their views on everything and anything.

The website came into existence on October 2010, and was called “The student Journals”. The student Journals is aimed and created for students and sabbatical officers. TSJ is also made to provide people with journalistic opportunities. Siraj has also interviewed well Known figures like Kevin Kallaugher (editorial cartoonist, Economist), Kate Allen (Director, Amnesty International UK), Brendan O'Neill (Editor, Spiked) & more which are available for all to see on TSJ.

Opportunities of any kind are rare to perceive, Siraj desires to make opportunities as such more frequently common for all to utilize.
