The Guy behind Idea paint – Morgen Newman

Start-Ups - Posted: August 11, 2010

Morgen Newman

25 year old Morgen Newman has always had a business mind, At the age of 10 he started up his first business, Experienced Golf Balls.

He lived near to a golf course and would collect stray balls and sell them back to the owners at a profit.

This creative thinking led him to start IdeaPaint at 21. While at college, Morgen and some of his fellow students felt frustrated at the lack of writing surfaces. This is how IdeaPaint came around.

The product is a dry erase paint which can be useful for schools, offices or in the home. Essentially the paint becomes a whiteboard with no limit. As long as you can paint the surface, you can use IdeaPaint to express your big ideas and let the creativity flow.

Mr Newman has started a business from a need of his own, His frustration with existing alternatives led him to come up with a new idea, which he followed through with.

IdeaPaint was named one of ‘America’s Most Promising Start-ups’ in 2009 and Newman was named as one of ‘America’s Most Promising Entrepreneurs’.

He believes having the mindset, to take advantage of every opportunity and that failure wasn’t the end of the world, led to his entrepreneurial ways.

So what is Morgen Newman’s advice for other entrepreneurs, well he says ‘Do your homework, then commit fully to your venture and execute it. If you aren’t fully committed, you will quickly find a reason to fail or never actually start.’ Very true words I think you’ll agree.
