Tale of three Ambitious Graduates – Touring London with a Mini Cooper

Start-Ups - Posted: January 20, 2010

smallcarBIGCITY

Oliver Knight, Rob Welch and Alastair Bruton are the three co-founders of smallcarBIGCITY.com - SmallcarBIGCITY is a London sightseeing company that offers retro tours of London in beautifully presented classic Mini Coopers.

Rob Welch initially came up with the idea to offer London tourists a special experience; a tour of the city in a classic Mini.

Rob and Oliver met at a graduate recruitment day in central London looking to get a job in the IT sales department, after finding their effort in getting a job unsuccessful, they both agreed again to meet up after chatting during their time at the Graduate recruitment day event.

Meeting up and after hours of catching up and talking about their love for London after different experiences in the university, Rob introduced Oliver to the idea of introducing Minis into the tourist industry in London after noticing such an interest while driving around town and both of them already owing a mini-cooper only made the case stronger and interesting.

Next, was time for research, writing up a business plan and after their months of hardwork, the idea came to life- SmallcarBIGCITY was founded in December 2008.

They are now planning on expanding the business move to other areas of the country e.g. MG B’s in Brighton, Morris Minors in the Cotswolds, the list goes on...

Check out their website and let me know your thoughts on their business.
